Health and Welfare
When your pet is with us, its health and welfare is our main concern at all stages of the grooming process.
Should we believe your animal is experiencing any fear or stress at any time, we will, where possible, employ alternative strategies to alleviate this. This may require extra time or sessions to overcome this problem.
During grooming it is possible pre-existing conditions are noticed, you will be informed, so you can seek veterinary advice.
Extremely rarely accidents can happen whilst grooming, or medical issues can arise. In the unlikely event of this you authorise us to seek emergency veterinary treatment.
Vaccinations
By using Pet Pawfection Salon’s services, owners confirm their pet is up to date with annual vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Canine Parvovirus.
Unvaccinated pets put themselves and others at risk. If your pet does not have up to date vaccinations we must be informed so we take extra measures to ensure other pets safety.
Pet Pawfection Salon takes no responsibility for any pet that may contract any of the aforementioned diseases.
Fleas and Ticks
If your pet is known to have a parasitic infestation, we ask that you rearrange your grooming appointment. 72 hours’ notice must be given to avoid any cancellation charges.
We recommend you contact your veterinary surgery to provide you with the best recommended treatment.
If fleas are found on your pet we will use a flea shampoo and additional disinfection of premises, accommodation, and equipment. An extra charge will be incurred.
If ticks are found an additional fee will be incurred for removal. We will not be held responsible for any infection caused by the tick or removal thereof.
Salon Exclusivity
At Pet Pawfection Salon we operate strictly by appointment, the price quoted excludes salon exclusivity but ensures a 1-2-1 grooming slot. This helps ensure a calm, low risk environment.
If you have multiple animals, only one of whom is being groomed, and they are not used to being apart, the others can remain at our discretion.
Time Keeping
Our appointment slots are timed to each individual animal, with a period of time to try and prevent any overlap. This ensures we are not rushing to complete the groom.
The appointment time given, is the time we expect you to attend the salon. If you are early for your appointment, we may not be able to grant you immediate access. Likewise, if you are late we may have to refuse to groom on welfare grounds. This will incur a fee. Customers who are 30 minutes or more late will be deemed to be a ‘no show’ and charged the cancellation fee.
If you leave your pet with us, and are late collecting, this will also incur an extra fee of £15 for every half hour, as it will impact on the next customer. We ask that everyone shows the same courtesy afforded to you as others.
Pricing
All prices quoted assume your pets coat is well maintained free from knots, matts and tangles. Your pet is well behaved, shows no aggression and groomed at our recommended periods.
The coat is not a combination which is overly thick, drying takes time and will be charged accordingly.
Your pet is not overweight or oversized for the breed.
Whilst we are happy to work with nervous/timid animals, these may incur extra charges due to extra time and handling skills required.
Charges will be incurred for:
· matted coats
· those that are poorly maintained
· pets with fleas
All charges are payable before you leave the salon with your pet. Payment can be made by card, cash or BACS, if paying by BACS this must be done prior to the appointment.
Appointment Bookings
Appointments will only be held for 48 hours once booked. A deposit of at least £20 of the service will be requested. This can be paid in person by card or cash. If this is not possible we will accept a bank transfer.
Appointments will only be confirmed once the deposit requested is received. If paying by bank transfer, please include your pets name as reference and appointment date to enable us to match payments with your pet.
Cancellations and No Shows
We appreciate that sometimes you may need to rearrange your pet’s appointment. As long as this is done with 72 hours’ notice there will be no charges.
Any failure to attend or cancel with less than 72 hours’ notice (except in extreme circumstances) will result in deposits being non-refundable. When rebooking failed appointments, we reserve the right to request full reimbursement for non-attended slots, before confirming new appointments. This is to ensure we are covering all overheads where missed slots could have been allocated to another customer requiring our services.
Condition
Pet Pawfection Salon practise humanity before vanity. Should a pet be presented with neglected or a matted coat, and our professional opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat completely rather than de-mat, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Sec 5 – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).
Whilst we make every effort to identify this in our initial consultation there may be occasions where the degree of matting cannot be fully identified until the groom commences. In this event we will make every effort to contact you, if this is not possible and we believe it is in the best interest and welfare of the animal we will proceed with the full coat removal
In instances where the above is necessary, it can lead to skin irritation and other conditions.
On some breeds the coat may not grow back in the same manner. Pet Pawfection Salon and its staff, will not be liable for any effects which may arise from this.
IF THERE ARE ANY DISCREPANCIES YOU MUST REPORT THIS STRAIGHT AWAY TO THE SALON OWNER WITHIN THE FIRST 24 HOURS. YOUR PET COULD BE REQUESTED TO COME BACK TO THE SALON TO BE ASSESSED.
By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and using the service of Pet Pawfection Salon you are agreeing to the De-Matting disclaimer below. Any de-matting procedure will incur an extra charge due to time, extra skill and wear and tear on equipment.
De-Matting Disclaimer
It is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to animals under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, this includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of your pet.
We are unable to carry out de-matting for more than 15 minutes. In our professional opinion if de-matting will take longer than 15 minutes we are required by the Act to clip your pet short.
We can provide advice on the best way to maintain your pets coat in the future and suggest a grooming programme that achieves the look you want for your pet.
Aggressive and Poorly Socialised Pets
We reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet if we believe it may cause injury to itself or any member of staff in our salon.
If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session will be stopped immediately and the full fee incurred.
We must be informed prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression.
Your attention is drawn to the dangerous dog’s act which holds owners liable for bites and injuries.
If more than one person is required to complete the groom there will be a double handling charge applied to the final bill.
Please toilet your pet before attending their appointment to avoid any accidents.
Any dog that toilets inside the salon can incur an extra fee for cleaning.
